In the world of retail there are many companies that bring product directly to stores and manage their promotions, displays, and stock. Beverages, magazines, bread, and others are among the products that have direct store delivery and stocking done by drivers.
Fleets of panel vans and trucks crisscross a city daily to maintain proper inventory levels at many different retail locations. The drivers of these vehicles are part inventory clerk, part merchandiser, part salesperson, and part businessperson. In most cases their compensation is determined by the sales they are able to push through the retail stores they service. The more locations they can serve the greater their compensation.
Route sales and direct delivery drivers are an excellent example of the type of user and application where the Datalogic Elf™ excels. These field workers need to maximize their efficiency by getting from store to store quickly and minimizing their time on site as much as possible. This may be difficult because their task list can be long: meeting with an area manager, checking and restocking product, recording promotional information, setting up displays, and much more.
In some cases the tools these drivers use has software developed directly by the product manufacturer. Such is the case with the Coca-Cola Company.
RED@Global is a software application used by drivers of Coca-Cola bottlers. Recently Elf was approved by the Coca-Cola Company.
The Datalogic Elf™ professional PDA has received certification for the RED@Global software application. This application was developed by The Coca-Cola Company for its bottlers worldwide. This certification places the Datalogic Elf on the list of approved devices available to be used by Coca-Cola bottlers that may use or are considering using the RED@Global application.
Bottlers in Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago have already deployed the Datalogic Elf™.
Now Coca-Cola bottlers worldwide can take advantage of the Elf’s unique feature set to increase their field employee’s productivity.
